Yes, a real case. Most "kid case" iPad covers from Amazon do help — drop heights below table level usually survive. We see lots of repeat customers who didn't put a case back on after the first repair. We'll happily fix it again, but a $30 case can save you $150 next time.
Usually yes. iPad Pros are $1,000–$2,000+ devices. A $290 screen repair to keep using it for 3+ more years makes sense. The exception: if multiple things are broken at once (screen + battery + charging port), the total can approach replacement cost — we'll be honest about when to pivot.
The Pencil itself rarely fails. When customers say "Pencil doesn't work" the issue is usually the iPad's digitizer, not the Pencil. We test both. If the Pencil tip is bent or the Lightning connector (1st gen) is damaged, replacement is usually more cost-effective than repair.
